Legend has it that Shravan Kumar, escorting his visually impaired parents on a pilgrimage, reached the pond to fetch water for them. Unfortunately, King Dasharatha, father of Lord Rama, mistook the water's sound for an animal and accidentally shot an arrow at Shravan, resulting in his untimely demise. Recognizing his error, Dasharatha faced a curse from Shravan's grieving parents, foretelling his own sorrow of losing a son.
