Chausath Yogini Temple

Located around 20 kilometres from Jabalpur, in Mitaoli Village, Chausath Yogini Temple stands as a testament to India's rich historical tapestry. Built in the 10th century, by the Kachchhapaghata King, Devapala, this historical marvel is dedicated to the 64 Yoginis, powerful goddesses in Hindu mythology. It has 65 chambers, built for 64 yoginis and the goddess Devi and its open mandapa at the centre is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is perched atop a hill, around 30 metres in height and there are 100 steps to climb up to the entrance. Its unique circular design, intricate stone carvings, and spiritual aura make it a captivating attraction. Visitors can explore the temple's open-air courtyard, admire the detailed sculptures, and immerse themselves in the mystique of an era long past.

Bargi Dam

Bargi Dam, a serene reservoir nestled in the heart of Jabalpur, attracts nature enthusiasts from all over the country. Kanchnar City Shiv Temple

Kanchnar City Shiv Temple is a place of devotion and architectural beauty, a spiritual gem within Jabalpur's vibrant tapestry. It boasts one of the tallest statues of Lord Shiva in the country, measuring 23 metres in height. The construction of the statue started in the year 2001 and it was made public in the year 2006. There are 12 caverns on which the statue is made and each cavern is home to the replicas of Lord Shiva (shiva lingam), collected from various shrines throughout the country. The temple remains open from 7 AM to 9 PM, everyday and it observes Aarti in the evening around 7 PM. However, Makar Sankranti is the best time to visit this temple.

Vishnu Varah Temple Majholi

Located at a distance of around 42 kilometres from the Jabalpur City, Vishnu Varah Temple in Majholi is an archaeological wonder. It was built in the 11th century and later destroyed, then rebuilt again in the 17th-18th century. Hence, the shikhara of this temple is not the original one. The temple faces the east and there is a pillar in front of the door. The pillar has the marking of Dashavatar. Both the Navagrahas are depicted on the wooden doors of the temple. The temple opens at 6:15 AM and closes at 12:15 PM and then again remains open from 1:30 PM to 9:30 PM.

Madan Mahal Fort

Madan Mahal Fort, a historical gem in Jabalpur, offers a captivating journey through time. Perched atop a scenic hill, this fort carries the echoes of an era long past. Dumna Nature Park

Dumna Nature Reserve Park, nestled in the heart of Jabalpur, at a height of 40 metres above the city, unfolds as an ecotourism site. Encompassing a sprawling 1,800 acre expanse, the park boasts a serene dam, dense woodlands, and a wildlife community. Within this green oasis, one can encounter a variety of creatures, from chital and leopards to wild boar, porcupines, jackals, and a plethora of avian species. The park not only offers natural marvels but also caters to families with a children's park and a welcoming restaurant. Additionally, the nearby Khandari Dam attracts travellers to visit with its attractions like a hanging bridge, tent platform, rest house, fishing platform, toy train, and boating opportunities. The park remains open from 6 AM to 6 PM, except on Mondays.

Bhadbhada Waterfalls

Located in Tewar, around 15 kilometres from Jabalpur, Bhadbhada Waterfalls is a hidden natural marvel waiting to be explored. It is found along the Gour River, a tributary of the Narmada, in the charming village of Jamtara. Though it somewhat resembles the famous Niagara Falls in shape, it's on a much smaller scale. Accessible by road, this hidden gem shines in its best form right after the monsoon season, when the surroundings are at their lushest and the waterfall is at its most picturesque.

Nidan Falls

Around 30 kilometres away from Jabalpur City, Nidan Falls is another hidden treasure which can be added on Jabalpur sightseeing tour. Nidan Falls gently cascades down from a considerable height. The rocks create a natural stepped formation, slowing the water's flow, and providing a delightful, stair-like effect to the waterfall. To reach the falls, one needs to take a short, roughly one kilometre walk from the main road. While it's a lovely sight to behold throughout the year, the waterfall is at its most mesmerising form during the monsoon season, typically from July to September.
